Ears to Hear is a semi-weekly podcast that plays awesome independent music. Much (not all) of the music I play on the podcast is by artists who are (as far as I know) Christians, but not because I think Christians should only listen to “Christian” music or because I want to label this music as “Christian”. On the contrary, the beautiful thing about this music is that it’s just good, so you can enjoy it regardless of the religion you ascribe to. This music isn’t necessarily identifiable as Christian music, and that’s ok, because let’s be honest - a lot of the “Christian” music out there is just bad. The music on the podcast is mostly in the alternative/indie/pop/rock categories, only because that’s what I like at the moment. I’m definitely open to playing other genres. I also talk on the show about music news, important things you should know about, and whatever else seems fitting. And we do some nice interviews with nice bands!

Ears to Hear differs from many of what I like to call “hit and run” music podcasts. Those are the podcasts that might play one song from an artist and you never hear from the artist again (I’ll be a little judgemental and say that those are usually the podcasters who don’t put a ton of time into finding the music; they just pick whatever looks popular on the podsafe music networks). On the contrary, I’m all about showcasing artists on this show, not just songs. I put a ton of time into finding this music (and I listen to a ton of really bad music along the way, all so you don’t have to), and I talk to most of the artists I play on the show (and each and every last one of them is amazing), so basically we’re all like one big happy podcasting family. If I play someone’s music on this show, you can be sure that this is music that I love to listen to (probably a super-lot); it’s music that I am passionate about and that I really believe in and that I would do almost anything to promote. It’s not my goal to play as many artists as I possibly can, but rather to get you hooked on the (absolutely wonderful) bands that I do play.

You, my dearest listener, are the other vital part of my show. There is no show without you (well, I guess there is, but it doesn’t do much if you don’t hear it). I welcome you wholeheartedly into our aforementioned big happy podcasting family. Please get in touch with me. Let me know what you think of the show, or recommend bands to me, or just say hi. Hearing from you is probably my 8th favorite thing in life (I just made up that number, I didn’t actually think of my first 7 favorite things). And I will write back to you if you write me nice emails. Or if you write me mean emails. And especially if you write me funny emails. I’m sure it will be great fun…

In the end, all that’s important is that this is a podcast that plays great independent music, so enjoy!
